KEEPING TRACK OF FOOD

You’ve probably heard the saying that health and fitness are 80% diet and 20% exercise. This couldn’t be truer. Diet plays such an important role in how your body feels and functions. Lack of food will leave you feeling hungry and fatigued. If you’re consuming too much food, you will start to put on weight. That’s why it’s important to track your food and know exactly how much you’re consuming.

Over 50 million people worldwide are using an app called ‘MyFitnessPal’. This app has millions of different food entries from just about every food imaginable. What makes this app so easy to use, is that you can search for any food, add it and change it from ounces, grams, cups, or one serving. Also, if it has a bar code on the packaging, you can use the bar code scanner and it searches for you, finding the right product.

Once you put in your details and goals, it calculates your recommended calories and macronutrients. This takes the hard part out of the diet. You can keep track of all your food for that day, week, month and year.

The most important thing to remember is that you can’t out-train a bad diet. This app makes it so easy to stay on track!

I’ll have to check out this app, I constantly munch throughout the day so it would deter me from overeating if I had to manually enter every bite!

I’ve used My Fitness Pal in the past and really enjoyed it. I tried a new one out recently called Noom and it’s nice, but not as good as My Fitness Pal.

I know first hand that managing your weight is mostly what you eat. Not that it was a motivation, but because of allergies I had to drastically change my diet and I literally saw lbs disappear. Fitnesspal is great for tracking!

I agree. Diet is very important. Many focus on the exercise bit and neglect their diet.
